Electronic Filing

Electronic filing, used here to mean electronic archiving, concerns the retention and protection of published articles and their associated records. Its purpose is to support the integrity, recovery, and continued availability of the scholarly record.

The journal distinguishes the following arrangements:

  • Online issue archives: Access to previously published issues and articles through the journal website.
  • Electronic backup: Copies of publication files and system records intended to support recovery following data loss or disruption.
  • Long-term digital preservation: Arrangements intended to maintain access to published content beyond the continued operation of the journal website or publisher.
  • Author self-archiving: Permission for authors to deposit manuscript versions in repositories, as described separately below.

Preservation status: No specific external preservation service or verified preservation coverage is identified in this policy. The availability of articles on the journal website, permission for repository deposits, and the assignment of a DOI should not be interpreted as confirmation of independent long-term digital preservation.

Preservation planning: The journal aims to establish and document arrangements covering published article files, bibliographic metadata, associated supplementary materials, and correction or retraction notices where applicable. Implementation details should identify the storage or preservation provider, content coverage, deposit or backup frequency, recovery procedures, and arrangements for continued access if the journal or publisher ceases operation.

Any future statement that content is preserved through a named service will be published only after participation and actual deposit status have been verified. Planned arrangements will be distinguished clearly from operational services.
